Zero Flag closing ceremony/flag folding
Possibly on or soon after September 17, 2011
116 Mott Street (corner of Hester) will be taking place approximately 2 weeks
from when it was unfurled. The date is yet TBD due to explanation in the first
entry of the calendar. Confirmed dates will be posted on their website listed
below. If you've never been part of this very touching patriotic event,
consider participating this year. When the flag is folded, the streets are
blocked so the community can come together with the 9/11 responders/volunteers
and perform the official military fold. The event coincides with the San
Gennaro Festival in Little Italy, so many neighbours and visitors participate
in the folding. View photos from past events and get a history of the tradition
as well as updated info by going to www.thegroundzeroflag.com. Also check out www.24-7.com
